The Chinese Preventive Medicine Association (CPMA) is a non-profit national academic institution, comprised of voluntary scientific and technological workers in the fields of public health and preventive medicine. Under the direct administration of the National Health Commission (NHC) and legally registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, CPMA is also a member of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). Since 1998, CPMA has been a member of the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA), serving on the Governing Council from 2000, onward.CPMA was established in 1987 and has held six National Congress meetings since its founding (1987, 1992, 1999, 2005, 2014 and 2019). Li Bin, the Vice-Minister of China NHC serves as the sixth President of CPMA.
