Influence of comprehensive nursing intervention and community chronic disease management on the quality of life of terminal patients

Objective To explore the influence of comprehensive nursing intervention and community chronic disease management on the quality of life of terminal patients.Methods Education on diet and medications was offered for the 76 terminal patients.Daily nursing and symptom nursing care were provided.Besides some chronic diseases management measures such as behavior assessment,risk prediction and psychological supports were implemented,too.One to three months after the beginning of the intervention,the quality of life of the patients and the anxiety were assessed.Results The scores for the life quality dimensions of the social function,psychological function,physical function and material function one month after the intervention and those of three months after the intervention were higher than those before the inventions,and the scores for the anxiety were lower,with the differences being statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Comprehensive nursing intervention and community chronic diseases management is an effective way of terminal care.
