
F:What do you think about all the different diets that people go on?

M:I don't think dieting is good for you.It's much better to eat a balanced diet and to never get overweight to begin with!
M:我觉得节食对你不好。饮食最好要均衡,而且从小就得注意不要发胖。
F:But what do you think about people who are obese? What should they do to lose weight?
F:但是那些已经肥胖的人该怎么办呢?他们应该怎么减肥?
M:They need to eat healthy foods,but they also have to increase the amount of physical exercise every day. They don't have to cut out fattening foods altogeth-er,though.
M:他们要吃健康食品,不过还得同时增加每天的运动量。而且,不能一下子就把所有会使人肥胖的食物都停掉不吃。
F:So you think it's OK for people who are dieting to eat chocolate,don't you?
F:那么你觉得正在节食的人吃些巧克力也是可以的?
M:Sure,they can eat some chocolate.As long as they are exercising and eating mostly healthy foods,there's nothing wrong with having a small dessert.
M:当然,他们可以吃些巧克力。只要他们坚持锻炼,而且摄入的主要都是健康食品,那么吃点儿甜食也不碍事。
F:How about drinking soda?
F:那喝汽水呢?
M:Many people gain weight by drinking far too much soda. Soda should be treated seriously;there's simply no nutritional value in it whatsoever.
M:很多人体重增加都是因为喝了太多的汽水。汽水的问题应该认真对待,无论如何,那里面一丁点儿营养价值都没有。
F:And have you ever tried taking vitamins?
F:那你有没有试过服用维生素片?
M:I used to take vitamins every day,but I don't take them anymore. Vitamins are good as a supplement,but they don't do much good if you don't have a wellbalanced diet to start.
M:我曾经每天都吃点维生素片,但是我现在不吃了。维生素作为一种营养补充剂确实很好,但是如果你饮食摄入不均衡,那么它也不会有太大作用。
F:How do you know so much about food and dieting?
F:你怎么知道这么多关于饮食和减肥的知识呢?
M:You might not believe this,but I used to be twice the size that I am now!
