A comparative study about the effect of psychological intervention in improving psychological health,coping style and social support in interns

Objective To explore efficacy of psychological intervention in improving psychological health,coping style and social support in interns.Methods A total of 195 interns were randomly divided into study group(99 cases) with psychological intervention and control group(96 cases) without psychological intervention for 12-week follow-up.They were assessed with Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90),Coping Methods Inventory(CMI) and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS) at baseline and the end of the 12th week.Results At the end of follow up,factors scores of SCL-90,CMI and SDSS in study group were all significantly improved when compared with baseline(P<0.05).But the significant difference was not found in control group(P>0.05).Conclusion Psychological intervention is effective in improving psychological health,coping style and social support of interns.
